The Riga Social Service is a subordinate institution of the Welfare Department of the Riga City Municipality that provides social assistance, organizes and provides social services, and ensures assistant services to residents of Riga.
The purpose of the position is to provide professional support in solving social problems for families with children, families with children facing unemployment issues, and families with children with functional disorders.
We will entrust you with:
identifying families with children experiencing social problems and assessing their social situation;
conducting social work with families with children where a child development-favorable environment is not ensured;
informing and consulting clients about their rights to social assistance and services, and the possibilities for their realization, as well as clients' responsibilities in receiving social services and social assistance;
creating client files, regularly documenting the social case management process in the file, and ensuring necessary documentation for service provision;
managing the course of social case resolution;
using the Municipality's social assistance information system SOPA and other databases in your work;
organizing meetings with clients and other institutions;
ensuring regular information provision to the Child Rights Protection Office regarding children in out-of-family care;
preparing reports on client cooperation in problem-solving, on organizing meetings, on decisions made regarding assistance or services, etc.
We expect:
second level professional or academic higher education in social work or charitable social work, or students studying in the field of social work who have completed third-year studies and continue in the fourth year;
good knowledge of the Latvian language;
ability to navigate regulatory acts;
excellent skills in working with computers and office equipment;
communication culture and ability to interact with people;
ability to make independent decisions within your competence.
