Senior Social Worker for work with groups of persons
(for an indefinite period)
Main requirements for candidates:
higher education in social work or charitable social work, in accordance with the requirements of Article 41 of the Social Services and Social Assistance Law (hereinafter – the Law) (obtaining appropriate education);
knowledge of regulatory acts governing the provision of social services and social assistance;
ability to prepare administrative acts, letters, reports, and opinions;
good computer skills, information systems and programs, office equipment, ability to work with the social benefits administration information system (SOPA);
ability to work in a team, take initiative and responsibility;
ability to make quick and independent decisions in non-standard situations;
ability to plan, manage and organize work, ability to clearly express your opinion;
good communication, empathy, and listening skills;
excellent knowledge of Latvian;
experience in social work and acquired special knowledge in child rights protection will be considered an advantage.
Main duties:
provide employees with consultations, methodological support and current information on social work issues and social services, their provision and allocation procedures;
review and coordinate decisions and other document drafts adopted by employees;
organize and conduct reviews of client files on provided social work and social services, and if necessary, prepare recommendations for eliminating identified shortcomings;
develop proposals and participate in working groups on the development and implementation of new social work and social services;
submit information to the department head about problems that have arisen in the work process and prepare proposals for solving them;
inform and consult persons about their rights to social services and social assistance, and about the possibilities of their implementation, as well as about cooperation obligations in receiving social services and social assistance;
receive and register written and oral applications from persons, ensure that applications are reviewed in the manner established by regulatory acts;
work with the unified municipal social assistance administration electronic system (SOPA) and other systems.
