Riga Social Service announces an open competition for candidates for the position of social worker (in the field of social assistance)

Riga Social Service is a subordinate institution of the Welfare Department of Riga City Municipality that provides social assistance, organizes and provides social services, as well as provides assistant services in the municipality to residents of Riga.
The purpose of the position is to provide professional support in the process of granting social assistance.
We will entrust you with:
receiving first-time clients, consulting and informing them about their rights to social assistance and the possibilities and procedures for exercising these rights, as well as their obligations in receiving social assistance; if necessary, completing a means declaration;
using the Municipality's social assistance information system SOPA and other databases in your work. Regularly and promptly clarifying and updating information in SOPA;
working as a case manager in complex social assistance administration situations;
assessing the existence of shared households and consulting social assistance organizers on identifying shared household facts;
when necessary, in resolving a client's social situation, conducting inspections at their place of residence;
preparing social rehabilitation plans;
performing social situation analysis in cases where a client has requested payment of a housing debt by concluding a tripartite agreement;
compiling a client's personal file, including accurate information about the client and their family situation, living conditions, problems, and attaching documents proving the client's material and family situation;
preparing drafts of administrative acts. Organizing correspondence with clients, legal and natural persons, state and municipal institutions.
We expect:
second-level professional higher or academic education in social work or charitable social work, or a second-year student studying in the field of social work;
command of the state language at C1 level (highest level);
skills in navigating regulatory documents;
excellent computer and office equipment skills;
contact culture and ability to interact with people;
ability to independently make decisions within your competence.

the possibility to work remotely 1 day per week (after the trial period).
