Riga Social Service announces an open competition for a social worker position (in the field of social assistance)

Riga Social Service is a subordinate institution of the Welfare Department of Riga City Municipality that provides social assistance, organizes and delivers social services, and ensures assistant services to Riga residents.
The position's purpose is to provide professional support in the social assistance allocation process.
We will entrust you with:
accepting first-time clients, consulting and informing them of their rights to social assistance and the procedures and possibilities for exercising these rights, as well as their obligations in receiving social assistance; where necessary, preparing means-of-subsistence declarations;
using the Municipality's social assistance information system SOPA and other databases in your work. Regularly and promptly verify and update information in SOPA;
working as a case manager in complex social assistance administration situations;
assessing the existence of shared households, consulting social assistance administrators on verifying shared household facts;
where necessary, conducting home visits to address the client's social situation;
preparing social rehabilitation plans;
conducting social situation analysis in cases where a client has requested payment of housing arrears through a tripartite agreement;
creating and maintaining client personal files with accurate information about the client and their family situation, living conditions, and problems, attaching documents proving the client's material and family status;
preparing drafts of administrative acts. Organizing correspondence with clients, legal and natural persons, state and municipal institutions.
We expect:
first or second cycle higher education in social work or charitable social work, or a second-year student studying social work;
state language proficiency at C1 level (highest level);
ability to navigate legal acts;
excellent computer and office equipment skills;
communication skills and the ability to interact with people;
ability to make independent decisions within your competence.
