Riga Social Service announces a competition for candidates for the position of social worker (working with adults in the field of social care and social rehabilitation services)

Riga Social Service is a subordinate institution of the Welfare Department of Riga City Municipality that provides social assistance, organizes and provides social services, as well as ensures assistant services in the municipality to Riga residents.
The purpose of the position is to provide assistance and professional support in solving social problems for adults.
We will entrust you with:
informing and consulting clients about their rights and opportunities, as well as the procedures for receiving social care and social rehabilitation services (hereinafter – social services) and social assistance;
identifying and assessing the client's social situation and problems;
assessing the client's self-care abilities and needs, as well as the possibilities (resources) of the person or their family members to participate in providing social services to adults and determining the need for social services to the client in the manner established by regulatory acts;
creating a client file, regularly documenting the social case management process in the file, and ensuring the necessary documentation for service provision;
preparing draft administrative acts and other documents, organizing correspondence with clients, state and municipal institutions, as well as natural and legal persons;
preparing an opinion on the social service fee, determining its validity in accordance with the current client (client's family) or supporter's means of subsistence declaration (hereinafter – ILD) term;
establishing the obligations of the client, their supporter, and the municipality to cooperate. Negotiating and providing the client and their supporter with understandable and precise explanations and answers regarding their obligations in receiving and paying for social services in the manner established by regulatory acts;
managing the course of social case resolution;
using the Municipality's social assistance information system SOPA and other databases in your work.
We expect:
a first or second cycle higher education in social work or charitable social work, or students starting from the third year studying in the field of social work;
state language proficiency at C1 level (highest level);
ability to navigate regulatory acts;
excellent computer and office equipment skills;
contact culture and ability to interact with people;
ability to independently make decisions within your competence.
