Blacksmith/Metal Worker

Job Responsibilities We are looking for someone with industry experience to independently carry out manufacturing and assembly work on our varying blacksmithing projects. You and your colleagues work from our smithy on Augustenborgsgatan but are often out in Malmö city on various assignments to complete different orders. We manufacture, for example, decorative ironwork for Malmö city's outdoor spaces such as flower baskets, fences and entrances, kickstand holders/stairs/railings/grating and lighting fixtures. Your work tasks include manufacturing, maintenance, sheet metalwork, welding methods, assembly including excavation and repair work on varying blacksmithing projects. This could for example be fences, bike racks, waste bins and dog waste containers. You provide service to and maintain close contact with the customer on various design and special projects. You master reading drawings and can translate the customer's sketches and drawings into products. Our customer is primarily the Property and Street Office and the City Properties Department. You are expected to master material quality and select, perform and ensure different welding methods, 111, 135 and 136 with MIG, TIG and stick. Standby work may occur. Qualifications We are looking for someone who can/has: Vocational upper secondary education in sheet metal and welding or equivalent education that the employer deems equivalent. At least two years of relevant work experience Work independently Read drawings Perform different welding methods with MIG, TIG and stick. Can perform physical work such as excavation and casting Class B driver's license for manual transmission vehicles Basic knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. Basic digital skills It is meritorious to have: Vocational education in blacksmithing Hot work training Road safety Long experience in the trade Experience with EN-1090 Forklift certification Hot work certification To thrive with us, it is important that you are creative and interested in finding new solutions and approaches for our customers.
