Do you have experience leading and developing people? Do you want to help shape the future of veterinary care? Are you passionate about present and engaging leadership? Then this could be the role for you!
About the Workplace
AniCura Blekinge, Högsby, and Borgholm, together with the animal hospital in Kalmar, are part of AniCura Kalmarsund. Together we provide modern veterinary care with a strong focus on quality, service, and continuous development. We are now seeking a nursing manager who wants to contribute to our continued development journey.
About the Role
As a nursing manager, you have a central role in leading, developing, and creating conditions for our employees and operations to reach their goals. The role encompasses both strategic and operational work with personnel matters, operational development, work procedures, quality, and resource planning. We are in an exciting development phase where present, clear, and inclusive leadership is an important success factor.
This is a full-time position where the majority of work consists of management and leadership tasks, combined with clinical presence in the operation to create understanding, involvement, and close collaboration with employees.
In the role, you have personnel responsibility for our animal care staff, veterinary nurses, receptionists, and veterinarians, where you actively work to create a work environment where employees thrive, develop, and are given the right conditions to perform. You will work closely with other managers and be part of AniCura Kalmarsund's management team.
Your Areas of Responsibility
You are responsible for:
Leading, coaching, and developing employees and creating conditions for performance, well-being, and development.
Driving the operation toward set goals and continuously working on improvement and development efforts.
Working with resource and competency optimization for an efficient and sustainable operation.
Participating in budget and operational planning.
Responsibility for personnel processes such as recruitment, salary setting, employee conversations, rehabilitation, and onboarding.
Driving systematic work environment efforts with focus on both physical and organizational/social work environment.
Working with scheduling, competency supply, and staffing matters.
Contributing to change and development work within the operation.
This position is a permanent full-time employment with an initial probationary period.
Who Are You?
We are seeking someone with several years of experience in management and leadership. To thrive and succeed in the role, we see that you have a coaching approach and value-creating leadership where you motivate, engage, and develop your employees.
You are a confident and clear leader with good communication skills and find it easy to create trusting relationships. As a person, you are structured, solution-oriented, and thrive in a changing environment where you can combine operational and strategic work.
We place great importance on personal qualities such as:
Clarity and attentiveness
Inclusive leadership
Relationship-building ability
Good organizational skills
Business acumen and holistic perspective
Ability to drive change and development
You do not need a background in veterinary care to succeed in the role – what is most important to us is your leadership, your commitment, and your ability to develop people and operations. However, if you have experience as a licensed veterinary nurse, animal care staff, or from other roles in veterinary care, we see that as a merit.
Your experience can contribute valuable perspectives and a deep understanding of both the operation, employees' daily lives, and the care we together offer our patients and pet owners. A genuine interest in animals and people is something we see as a natural asset in the role.
You have good knowledge of Office 365 and master Swedish and English in speech and writing. A B-category driving license is required.
