Caregiver/Nursing Assistant, Units 9A and 9B, Forensic Psychiatry in Örebro
The Forensic Psychiatry in Örebro consists of five units with a total of 43 inpatient beds. We are currently seeking staff members for unit 9 at Karlahuset to work day, evening, and weekend shifts. The unit is divided into two sections, 9A and 9B, and you will be scheduled for one of these. We are looking for someone who finds it exciting to be part of a developing operation providing high-quality forensic psychiatric care. Work Tasks The patients in our care have been transferred to treatment instead of prison and are cared for according to the Act on Forensic Psychiatric Care (LRV). Care periods are relatively long because patients have complex issues, and the work is systematic, varied, and stimulating. At unit 9, patients are well advanced in the care process. This means they are in a discharge phase and much of the rehabilitation takes place outside the unit, and cooperation with other actors in the care chain is a significant part of our operation. Care is patient-centered with the patient in focus, and as a caregiver you are the member of the team who primarily works with psychiatric nursing care in the patient's care and treatment. You work together with nurses, doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers. You also need to be able to work independently and be flexible, as well as have the ability to notice and articulate the specific needs within your area for each individual patient. The work tasks are varied, and as a caregiver you work both individually and in group activities with patients. You are also expected to contribute to the development of the operation and take responsibility for improving the aspects of care you are responsible for. Qualifications We welcome you if you are trained as a caregiver/nursing assistant, preferably with a psychiatric focus according to the previous program structure, or have completed training as a nursing assistant within the current program structure. You may also have completed caregiver training as a vocational education (YH). To assess your suitability for employment, grades from your care education and certification from the National Board of Health and Welfare regarding your protected professional title must be attached to your application. You should have a high level of personal maturity and a great interest in people. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and qualities such as empathy, communication skills, approach, and openness to new knowledge are highly valued. A driver's license is a plus but not necessary. About the Operation Within the forensic psychiatric operation, we assess, treat, and rehabilitate people sentenced to forensic psychiatric care. The operation consists of a number of care units and an outpatient team. Together we are around 90 employees working with common processes and goals. We work in multiprofessional teams based on a holistic view of the person and adapt care measures to the patient's needs and circumstances. We work to promote the participation of relatives in care.
