We welcome both male and female applicants. The position is a permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period. As a mental health caregiver, your main responsibilities will be to meet the residents' individual needs and wishes and provide support in daily life based on a pedagogical approach. You will function as support/help in everyday life for people with varying mental and social disabilities, some with comorbidities. You will work toward increased independence by providing appropriate support based on individual circumstances, to make daily life as self-directed as possible for the residents. Together with other colleagues, you work toward making the day meaningful and enriching for residents. You support and guide residents with personal care, meals, medication management, cleaning, social contacts, and communication. An important part of the work is to stimulate and motivate residents to develop their abilities and to create opportunities for an active and meaningful leisure time. Your tasks also include documentation and planning based on implementation plans. You will participate in daily planning for ADL, activities, outings, and motivational conversations. ABOUT US Edebohemmet is a group home for 15 residents distributed in a main building and an annex with apartments for transitional housing. It is beautifully situated on the outskirts of Edebo in Roslagen, approximately 35 km from Norrtälje. You can reach us by bus or car. We serve men and women aged 18-65 with some form of mental disability. We have provided psychiatric care since 1977. Thus, there is extensive experience working with people in need of psychological and social care. Since 2006, we have focused on support and care for people with dual diagnoses (comorbidities). We work with contact person responsibility, which means you are the contact person for a few residents and are responsible for planning and follow-up of their services based on an implementation plan. Daily planning is conducted for ADL, activities, outings, and motivational conversations. We use the methods Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Low-Arousal Approach. The purpose of the conversation method is to promote motivation and behavioral change. Documentation is ongoing through journaling in Infosoc. We work with Individual Needs at the Center (IBIC), which is an approach to identifying and describing an individual's needs, resources, goals, and outcomes with a clear focus on the individual's own resources, goals, and active participation. Education/Experience Applicants must have completed a nursing program, mental health caregiver training, or equivalent documented care or educational training. You need to have basic computer skills. Digital journal system and e-mail are your most important work tools alongside contact with residents. We don't expect you to know the system in advance, but you need to learn it quickly. The work requires you to have very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. A valid driver's license is required to transport residents to activities, appointments, or care visits, etc., regardless of distance. You will work in a staff group where you are expected to collaborate and work independently. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Otherwise, your CV is not the most important thing. It includes work during day, evening, overnight on-call, and weekend shifts. Some solo work occurs. You may be required to be on standby as needed.
