Description At the schools in the southern archipelago, we work toward equity and alignment to create continuity and a sense of being part of an archipelago school community. Your position will be divided between Donsö and Styrsö schools. Donsö School is a grades 1-6 school with 135 students and Styrsö School is a grades 1-9 school with 275 students. This is a parental leave cover position starting January 7, 2027 through December 31, 2027 with the possibility of extension. Key success factors for our school area are strong collaboration between home and school, high expectations, engaged and competent staff, and academically motivated students. Our goal is to create schools and after-school programs that, given our small-scale setting, provide children with the best conditions to engage with the world. Job Responsibilities This position involves working approximately 30% at Donsö School and 70% at Styrsö School. Since both schools are part of the same school area and share a common student health team, there is close collaboration between the schools. As a school nurse, you work closely with student health personnel, school staff, and leadership to create the best possible conditions for student health and learning. As a school nurse, you also collaborate with guardians and external authorities. By placing health and learning in context, you as a school nurse contribute to student well-being and their opportunity to achieve educational goals. You participate in the schools' student health meetings and provide medical expertise in various contexts where you collaborate with educators, principals, and others in promotion and prevention efforts. You conduct analyses of how students' medical history and current situation affect the need for support and interventions at the individual, group, and organizational levels. You work preventively and with health promotion based on the regulations in the Health and Medical Care Act and the Education Act, guidance for student health, and Gothenburg City's Methodological Support for the medical component of student health. This includes health visits, health conversations, vaccinations, and matters concerning students' work environment. You conduct group activities as needed, as well as individual open office hours and consultations together with the school physician. You are part of a professional network of school nurses in the education area with regular meetings for quality development and work support, led by a Medical Leadership Responsible (MLA). School nurses in the network are also offered supervision and profession-specific professional development. Qualifications We are seeking a registered nurse with specialist education in health and medical care for children and young people, district nurse education, or further education with a focus on school nursing. Previous experience working as a school nurse or experience with health promotion work with children and young people is meritorious. Experience working with PMO or equivalent data systems is also meritorious. To succeed in your assignment, it is important that you have strong collaboration skills, are responsible, and can prioritize your work based on the current situation. In addition to being confident in your professional role, you enjoy working with people. You have the ability to build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and others you meet in your professional role.
