Description Sandarnaskolan is an almost entirely newly built school with fresh and fit-for-purpose facilities. The school is located by Sannaparken in Majorna and currently has approximately 235 students from preschool class to grade 6. We share the building with a care and residential facility, which we consider positive for both elderly and young people. We are now seeking a school nurse who wants to work for our students at Sandarnaskolan but also have part of the position at our sister school, Sannaskolan 7-9. We are now recruiting a school nurse for a full-time position (100%). There are three additional school nurses working full-time in the school area. Job Duties Sandarnaskolan is led by an assistant principal and a principal. The school has a very committed student welfare team with a school psychologist, counselor, and special education teacher. In our work, we focus on students and knowledge, where intrinsic motivation, co-creation, and desire to learn are important ingredients. We work in teams and follow an approach based on the evidence-based PALS model. As a school nurse in the primary school administration, you are part of the Student Welfare Medical Service, EMI. The City of Gothenburg has an established basic program for EMI that includes health visits, health consultations, and vaccinations. The school nurse is responsible for organizing and planning their own and the school doctor's clinic work during the school year. The work also includes issues related to students' working environment, the school's values, and lifestyle-related health issues, and you become a link in the school's student welfare team. You work primarily in health promotion and prevention and contribute with your nursing expertise to create the best possible conditions for students' health, development, and learning. In your role as a school nurse, you have the opportunity to make a difference for students' well-being and learning. You work closely with other members of the student welfare team, the school's management, and of course all teaching staff at the school. You also collaborate with guardians and authorities outside the school. The principal is your immediate supervisor. As a school nurse, you are part of a professional network of other school nurses in the education area, led by a medical director (MLA). You are offered introductory training and access to a mentor during the introduction period. School nurses receive profession-specific professional development and have access to regular supervision outside the school. Qualifications We are looking for a registered nurse with specialist training in health and medical care for children and young people, district nursing education, or further education in school nursing. All documentation for school nurses and school doctors as well as student welfare is done in our digital patient record system, PMO. It is advantageous if you have experience working as a school nurse and if you have worked with children and young people. To succeed in your role, it is important that you are flexible, communicative, and have the ability to build good and trusting relationships with students, guardians, and teachers. You are confident in your professional role, responsible, and work well collaboratively. As a school nurse with us, you have an independent role and need to have good ability to plan and organize your work well.
