About the School Praktiska Gymnasiet in Gävle offers students a concept where theory alternates with practical exercises both at school and in workplaces. At Praktiska, we set high standards for ourselves to create the best conditions for an educational and enjoyable learning experience. The student health team's mission is to support students' development toward educational goals, primarily through health promotion and preventive work. As a school nurse, you bring nursing and medical expertise to support students' learning. The school nurse's preventive and health-promoting role includes offering health visits, health check-ups, and vaccinations. Guidelines and methodological support are available in the handbook for the medical student health intervention at upper secondary level. In your role as school nurse with us, you will be part of the school's student health team and work closely with school management, the student health team, mentors, educators, guardians, and external authorities. The assignment also involves participating in the school's development work and in joint development and quality assurance activities within medical student health. The work requires you to be confident in your professional role, work independently, be proactive, and have a good ability to see possibilities in different situations. To support your work, you will be part of AcadeMedia's network for school nurses, led by a medical operations manager. Your Profile We are looking for a registered nurse with specialist training as a pediatric nurse, district nurse, or school nurse. You are interested in preventive health work and in pursuing a modern school nurse role. Above all, you are passionate about building relationships with our students and view their development and learning as an important foundation for your work. If you have previous experience as a school nurse or experience with health promotion work with children and young people, we see this as very positive.
