About the Workplace Following a recently reorganized structure, Ale has consolidated student health services led by a student health director, with psychologists, school nurses, and school social work teams working together. Together with the schools' other student health professionals, we form an interdisciplinary group with a primary focus on health promotion and prevention for the municipality's students. The group consists of over 20 employees and is an important resource in developmental matters and coordination of various assignments. We're seeking someone who wants to make a difference and support students' development toward educational goals. We're now seeking an engaged school nurse for Bohusskolan, a grades F-9 school with over 600 students. The position is primarily directed toward preschool through grade 6, where you'll play an important role in promoting health and creating good conditions for students' development and learning. At Bohusskolan, you'll be part of a well-functioning student health team with high competence, strong collaboration, and well-established routines and practices. You'll work alongside an experienced school nurse colleague, which provides excellent opportunities for collegial support, collaboration, and professional development. A few times each month, the central student health team meets together, both in full group and by profession. These occasions are valued for the opportunity to connect and reflect, as well as to work together on development and quality initiatives. Job Responsibilities As a school nurse, you're a central part of student health services and work primarily in a preventive and health-promoting capacity to strengthen students' physical and mental health. Your workplace is in the school's student health team, which is supervised by the principal. You conduct health visits according to Ale Municipality's basic program and offer basic medical interventions as needed. You maintain open office hours and collaborate with the school physician. You also cooperate with external actors and services for the benefit of the student. Through your work, you contribute to early identification of factors that may affect students' wellbeing and learning, and in close collaboration with school staff and the student health team, you support students' development toward educational goals and promote a safe and health-promoting school environment. Within the student health team's medical services, we work systematically with quality development and improvement initiatives, and we place great emphasis on the interest in driving development forward within our operations. Documentation is recorded in the Prorenata journal system. Qualifications We're seeking someone who is a licensed nurse with specialist education as a school nurse, district nurse, or in health and medical care for children and youth. You have a genuine commitment to school-related matters and are passionate about working to promote children's health and learning. It's an asset if you have experience working as a school nurse. As a person, you're development-oriented, engaged, and have a strong drive, with the ability to take initiative and turn ideas into action. You want to take an active and meaningful role in developing the student health team's medical services. You have a strong sense of responsibility, are thorough and flexible. You feel confident working independently and have good collaborative and cooperation skills. You communicate well and connect easily with people, and you enjoy working with children and youth as well as their guardians. Personal suitability is weighted heavily.
