Oxbacksskolan is a municipal primary school with approximately 230 students in preschool through grade 3. Our after-school program consists of two departments: grades F-1 and grades 2-3. We take pride in our beautiful and historic facilities with high ceilings and unique classrooms. The school is centrally located in Södertälje with a spacious schoolyard where recess is filled with adult-led activities. We currently have 37 people working at the school, and we are now looking for you—a school nurse who wants to become part of our team! Your Responsibilities As a school nurse at Oxbacksskolan, you work from a salutogenic perspective with emphasis on health-promoting work—what provides and maintains health. This includes, among other things, offering health visits according to Södertälje Municipality's base program, with the aim of assessing students' general health status, growth, development, and learning. Another important area is monitoring students' vaccination coverage according to the Swedish national childhood vaccination program and offering supplementary vaccinations when needed. You will also offer open clinic hours where students can seek care themselves and provide simple healthcare services. As a school nurse, you work together with the school physician, counselor, psychologist, and others in the school's student health team, led by the principal. The student health team works in a health-promoting and preventive manner with the goal of ensuring that each individual student has the conditions to develop as far as possible in their learning and personal development. Your assignment also includes providing medical and nursing expertise to support the school's pedagogical work and overall planning of student health services. You ensure that your knowledge of students' health is utilized in the student health team's and school's work. You provide consultation to the school's other staff regarding medical questions when needed. All school nurses in the municipality are part of a professional network with regular meetings for quality development and work support, led by the Operations Manager for EMI. We have an orientation program that spans 1 year, and onboarding is done with the help of a centrally employed school nurse. Who Are You? Requirements: - Registered nurse with further education in open healthcare, healthcare for children and young people, or a school nurse program. - Experience working as a school nurse or other experience with health-promoting work with children and young people. - Good computer skills, as all documentation is done in the patient record system Prorenata. - You have good communication skills and express yourself clearly in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. Meritorious: - Experience working in schools. - Experience with counseling support and strong counseling skills through, for example, MI (motivational interviewing). Personal Qualities: - You are interested in working with preventive health promotion and developing a modern school nurse role. - You need to be self-driven, organized, and confident in your professional role, with the ability to take own initiatives. - You have good interpersonal skills, can build trust with students, have strong abilities to plan, prioritize, and organize, while being flexible in situations that require it. - You should value cultural differences and respect different backgrounds, cultures, and group affiliations.
