The Youth Unit is part of the Children and Young People Area, which belongs to the administration's Social Services department. The Youth Unit works to ensure that all young people have the same life opportunities as all young people in society through investigations and follow-ups of interventions for young people aged 13-20 years. The Youth Unit is divided into two groups with two group leaders. In addition to this, the area consists of a children's and reception unit, Family Care Unit for long-term placed children, and open care. The unit also receives support from a placement coordinator and a methods developer. You will be one of two school coordinators and have the opportunity for close collaboration that facilitates moving the work forward. The Administration Office is located at Skärholmen Center with proximity to the subway and shopping mall with a wide range of restaurants, cafés, and shopping. Your Role Placed children and young people are a particularly vulnerable group and often achieve worse school results than other children. At the same time, we know that school is one of the most important protective factors for creating good future prospects. As a school coordinator, you therefore have a central role in ensuring that every child and young person has the best possible conditions for a stable and successful school experience. In this role, you work closely with the child or young person, guardians, and the responsible social worker. You have an authority support assignment in matters concerning schooling and its conditions, and contribute actively in the selection of placement options with a focus on school quality and continuity. You gain a good overview of the city's placement options and school environments and become an important knowledge bearer in this field. As a school coordinator, you participate as an active party together with social workers in developing care plans and are a driving force in the work of establishing and following up on implementation plans. You monitor and document school matters, write material for reconsiderations, and ensure that school attendance and school results are followed up. Throughout the placement process – before, during, and after – you maintain regular contact with the school and work actively to ensure that schooling functions. Work tasks include, among others: Provide responsibility, support, and guidance to social workers in matters concerning schooling and school conditions Ensure that agreed planning regarding schooling is implemented Document school-related matters directly in the child's or young person's file Prepare for school changes according to city procedures (SAMS), including collecting and forwarding relevant information to the receiving school Gather the child's, young person's, and guardians' experiences of schooling and communicate these to relevant parties Continuously follow the schooling and act as needed When moving home, ensure that schooling is planned, that it gets started, and that the child/young person and guardians receive the necessary support When needed, you initiate open care measures to strengthen school attendance and structure You become part of the entire Children and Young People area within authority operations and work in close collaboration with the placement coordinator in the district. Your Competence and Experience We are looking for you who have: A degree in Social Work At least two years of experience working with authority operations in children and youth services Education in and experience working with BBIC support Very good communication skills in both speech and writing in Swedish It is meritorious if you: In addition to work within social services authority operations, have experience working within schools Have worked with placements within social services Have experience working at institutions, supported housing, or working with support to so-called treatment families Have experience working as a school coordinator As a person, you are driven and have an aptitude for collaboration. You should be comfortable working together with the other school coordinators to drive the work forward, and at the same time being part of a collaboration group with other school coordinators in the city. You also have the ability to manage multiple parallel processes and can be flexible in your work tasks. Organizing and prioritizing your work in an efficient way is something that comes naturally to you. In the recruitment process, great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
