We are now seeking a school counselor for an extended substitute position within the Central Child and Student Health Services in Krokoms Municipality. Welcome to us! As a school counselor in Krokoms Municipality, you will become part of the Central Child and Student Health Services – an operation with approximately 25 employees from various professions. With us, you will have the opportunity to work with both individual students and groups as well as with schools' development work. You are organizationally placed within the Central Child and Student Health Services and simultaneously participate in local student health teams at the schools. The Education and Children's Services Department has approximately 800 employees. The department's operations span the entire municipality and include preschool, primary school grades F–9, adapted primary school, after-school care, catering and facility management, mother tongue instruction, and library services. A Day as a School Counselor at Central Student Health Services As a school counselor, you work to promote students' health, well-being, and opportunities to achieve educational goals. You contribute knowledge about the social and psychosocial factors that affect students' school situation and play an important role in creating safe and inclusive learning environments. The work takes place in close collaboration with principals, educators, guardians, and other professionals within student health services. Together, you work to promote attendance, safety, learning, and goal achievement. Through our interdisciplinary approach, you gain access to a broad network of expertise and the opportunity to contribute to the development of student health work throughout the municipality. Your duties include, among others: conducting supportive, motivating, and advisory conversations with students contributing social and psychosocial expertise to student health work providing consultation and guidance to school personnel collaborating with guardians and external partners working in a promoting, preventive, and intervention capacity at the individual, group, and organizational levels contributing to schools' values-based work and the development of student health services. The position offers varied and independent work where you combine direct student support with development work at the group and organizational levels. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone with: a degree in social work (socionomexamen) experience working with children and young people strong ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing solid knowledge of legislation regulating school operations, confidentiality, and public administration a valid driver's license (B) and access to a car As a person, you are calm, confident, and responsible. You have an inclusive approach and a strong ability to build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are confident in your role as a conversation leader and can meet people with warmth and attentiveness while guiding conversations forward in a structured and professional manner. You have an analytical approach and the ability to see both the big picture and details. You can translate analysis into action and contribute to organizational development. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working both independently and with others. It is meriting if you have: experience working as a school counselor experience with student health work in schools experience in supervision, consultation, or development work experience collaborating with social services, health care, or other external partners Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
