School Counselor at Bäckaskolan F-6, Temporary Position

Here there are opportunities for development and new bold ideas. In the Gnosjö area, there are two school units. You will work at Bäckaskolan F-6 in Gnosjö. The school has approximately 320 students and approximately 45 teachers work here. 1 position(s). DUTIES As a school counselor, you will be part of the school's student health team. You will bring a counselor perspective to student health matters and work with school attendance. Your duties also include preventive values-based work and safety initiatives. According to the Education Act, student health services should primarily work on health promotion and prevention. The school counselor brings psychosocial expertise to the school at the individual, group, and organizational level and works on behalf of the principal. As a school counselor, you work based on proven experience and evidence with psychosocial interventions directed at groups or individual students. Your duties include conducting group-based interventions, having individual conversations with students, conducting assessments, and supervising staff in certain matters. The role also includes contacting other agencies such as BUP (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry) and social services. You will receive group supervision and maintain contact with other counselors in the municipality for collaboration and experience exchange. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is educated as a social worker or has other education that the employer deems equivalent. Previous experience as a counselor and/or experience working with children and young people is seen as an asset. You are comfortable working with both smaller and larger groups of students and staff. You have a talent for collaboration and building good working relationships. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Employment form: Fixed-term employment. Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: October 1, 2026, or by agreement, end date: July 31, 2027.
