JOB DUTIES
Do you want to be part of making a difference for students every day? We are looking for a driven school counselor who wants to contribute to safety, good relationships, and a school where students have the best possible conditions to succeed both socially and academically.
As a school counselor, you are an important part of both the school's student support services and the school social team. You work at the individual, group, and organizational level with a focus on preventive and supportive measures. In both roles, it is important to be close to students in their daily lives, both indoors and outdoors, to create safety, build relationships, and identify needs early.
You actively work with students' social skills and can lead student groups with the aim of strengthening cooperation, responsibility-taking, and safety. You observe both individuals and groups, organize and support safety-building activities, for example during breaks, and work closely with school staff, student support services, and guardians with the student's wellbeing in focus.
We are looking for you who
· have a degree in social work, behavioral science, or social pedagogy, or another education appropriate for the work.
· are confident in meeting with students, guardians, and staff in various situations.
· have clear and relational leadership where you build trust while setting boundaries.
· are driven, proactive, and want to be an active part of the school's preventive and supportive work.
· have good collaboration skills and can contribute a psychosocial perspective to student support work.
· are flexible, solution-focused, and have the student's wellbeing as your starting point in your work.
About the assignment
In this role, you need to be able to switch between planned interventions and situations that arise in the school day. You are a visible adult in the operation and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and learning school environment. Personal suitability is crucial for the position.
