School Counselor

About Us At Betelskolan, we believe that students who feel good also learn well. We are an F-9 school with 190 students where community, safety, and knowledge are at the center. We are now looking for you to be a key person in our student wellness team and help create an environment where every student feels seen and valued. Your Role with Us As a school counselor, you are the school's expert in psychosocial work. You work both to promote health and prevent problems to create the best conditions for our students' development and learning. Your Main Responsibilities: Supportive Conversations: You offer individual support and motivational counseling sessions with students, and when needed, refer them for additional support. You also conduct psychosocial health conversations with students in grade 7. Student Wellness Team (EHT): You work closely with the principal, school nurse, special education teacher, and psychologist to advance systematic student wellness work. Preventive Work: You lead and participate in efforts against bullying and discrimination, while also working preventively within mental health, conflicts, harassment, and problematic school absenteeism. Collaboration: You work closely with teachers and provide support on matters concerning student treatment, social issues, and students in need of support. You are a link between the school and external partners such as social services, BUP, and guardians. Group Activities: You will lead group conversations and classroom activities on topics such as values, emotions, stress, health-promoting routines, relationships, online situations, and other important areas. Who Are You? We are looking for someone who is confident in your professional role and has the ability to build trusting relationships with both young people and adults. You are attentive, but also dare to set boundaries and make decisions when needed. Requirements for the Position: Social Work degree or equivalent higher education. Good knowledge of applicable legislation (the Education Act, the Social Services Act, and confidentiality). Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish. Meritorious: Experience working with children and youth, preferably within school or social services. What We Offer You A two-year contract at 50 percent.
