We are approximately 350 colleagues within the Children and Education Department working in four school areas with children and students aged 1-16 years. Description We are looking for a Head of Schools who wants to lead and develop educational activities in Forshaga Municipality. In this role, you have overall responsibility for the municipality's preschools and schools and work to create equitable education of high quality where children's and students' learning and development are in focus. Through strategic, structured and trust-based leadership, you lead the operations towards set goals and create conditions for good results, sustainable development and long-term sound finances. Duties As Head of Schools, you are responsible for the strategic leadership and development of the municipality's preschools and schools. You have a central role in creating conditions for high quality, good results and a long-term sustainable operation where students' learning and development are in focus. Your duties include: Having overall responsibility for the quality, results and finances of the operations Leading, supporting and following up with principals in their assignments Ensuring that operations are conducted in accordance with the Education Act, national governing documents and municipal goals Promoting equitable education of high quality for all students Leading and developing systematic quality work Translating political goals and decisions into concrete operational development Analyzing results and changes in the external environment, identifying development needs and leading change and improvement work to meet future demands on schools With a holistic perspective and a long-term approach, you create conditions for resources, quality and development to go hand in hand. Through cooperation and dialogue with principals, employees, political leadership and other partners, you contribute to developing the operations and creating the best possible conditions for children's and students' learning and development. Qualifications We are looking for someone with relevant academic education and completed principal training. You have good knowledge of school governing documents, legislation and curricula, and are well familiar with systematic quality work, development work and cooperation. Furthermore, you have good understanding of employer matters and collective agreements, good system familiarity and see the opportunities in digitalization and AI as support for operational development. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. It is meritorious if you have experience leading educational activities, preferably as Head of Schools or in an equivalent strategic leadership role. We also view positively experience from working in a politically governed organization as well as broad experience from different parts of educational activities. As a leader, you are confident, structured and strategic. You have the ability to create engagement, build trusting relationships and lead through cooperation. You see the big picture, take responsibility for the best interests of the operation and combine a long-term perspective with good implementation ability. You have good judgment and are confident in making decisions even in complex situations. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
