School Librarian needed at popular grades 4-9 school in Nacka Strand! Would you like to work in an international environment with clear pedagogical policies? As a School Librarian at IES Nacka, you'll have a key role in the school. You'll step into a large, well-equipped, and vibrant school library where you have great autonomy to shape the operations, drive reading promotion projects, and create a safe and inspiring environment for our students in grades 4–9. The library is a hub in the school for reading enjoyment, information literacy, and study. You'll be part of the school's Admin team and work closely and strategically with the Assistant Principal, Academic Manager, and Heads of Departments in English and Swedish to support students' linguistic and academic development. Your main responsibilities: - Drive and develop library operations: You have overall responsibility for the school library and plan acquisitions, weeding, and displays based on student needs and curricula. - Pedagogical collaboration: In close dialogue with the Academic Manager and Heads of Departments in English and Swedish, you'll integrate the library into instruction and support reading development in both languages. - Reading promotion: You'll inspire students to read through book talks, themed weeks, and reading challenges, and support them in source criticism and information searching. - Systems management: You'll handle daily administration, circulation, and cataloging in the Cicero library system. - Admin: As part of the school's Admin team, you'll also handle other administrative school-wide tasks as needed. Who are you? We're looking for someone who is passionate about books, young people, and educational collaboration! You are independent, have strong initiative, and enjoy owning your own workplace while being a team player in the school's administrative team. Qualifications and experience: - Education in library and information science (or other education/experience deemed equivalent). - Experience with the Cicero library system is highly desirable. - Experience working with children and young people (preferably in school settings). - Fluency in both Swedish and English, spoken and written, as you'll work closely with English- and Swedish-speaking colleagues and students.
