School Librarian

In this role, you will become part of the Children and Education Sector. For us, children's and young people's development is the focus. DUTIES As a school librarian, you will together with other school librarians be responsible for: • Actively working with reading promotion initiatives. • Guiding students and staff in information searching, source criticism, and digital competence. • Collaborating with educators to support teaching. • Developing the school library's media collection based on students' needs and curriculum goals, and submitting purchase recommendations to the principal. • Making the school library's operations visible and increasing its accessibility. • Developing the school library's operations together with the principal. The position is located at multiple schools with one principal as your supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you with an academic degree in Library and Information Science. It is an advantage to have experience working in a library, preferably in schools or municipal services. You have good digital competence and experience working with databases and information searching. As a person, you are well-organized, service-oriented, and enjoy independent work while collaborating well with others. To thrive in the role of school librarian, we see that you have pedagogical ability and an interest in working with children and young people. Employment Type: Permanent employment. Duration: Permanent, start: By agreement. To begin working in preschools, schools, after-school programs, and other educational activities, you are required to submit a criminal record certificate. The certificate is valid for one year and can be ordered from the Swedish Police Authority www.polisen.se.
