Jelgava State City Municipality announces a competition for the position of Director of Jelgava State City Municipality's professional-oriented and interest-based education institution "Jelgava Specialized Swimming School" (for an indefinite period)
Main Responsibilities:
Manage the operations of a professional-oriented and interest-based education institution in accordance with regulatory requirements;
Organize and ensure the pedagogical process and ensure its quality;
Ensure the safety of learners in the professional-oriented and interest-based education institution and at its organized events in accordance with regulatory requirements;
Ensure compliance with labor protection, fire safety, and hygiene standards in the institution's operations;
Provide the institution with appropriately qualified personnel;
Ensure uninterrupted operations of the institution;
Plan and decide on economical and purposeful use of the institution's financial and material resources.
Requirements for Candidates:
Education meeting the requirements of Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 569 of September 11, 2018 "Regulations on Education and Professional Qualifications Required for Pedagogues and the Procedure for Professional Development of Pedagogues" point 13;
Compliance with the Education Law and the Child Rights Protection Law;
At least 3 years of pedagogical work experience in sports education and/or sports education management, acquired in the last 10 years (institution director or deputy director, education institution methodologist whose duties include organization and management of sports pedagogical process, methodological support or supervision);
Strategic vision for the institution's operations and development – knowledge of Jelgava State City Municipality's sports education sector and orientation in the current sports situation in the country overall;
Experience in school administration – in the position of education institution director, deputy director in sports education, or education institution methodologist (whose duties include organization and management of sports pedagogical process, methodological support or supervision);
Knowledge and experience in applying regulatory acts governing education and labor law;
Knowledge and understanding of education institution financing issues and budget planning;
Management skills, ability to motivate employees, and teamwork skills;
Good skills in working with information and communications technology and digital tools;
Ability to argue and express opinions, communication skills;
Native-level command of the state language;
Knowledge of at least one other official European Union language at a level necessary for professional work;
Desirable: Category B driving license.

Certification that the candidate is not subject to restrictions to work as a pedagogue as set out in the Education Law and Child Rights Protection Law (Attachment No. 2);
Copy of document certifying education (candidates who obtained education abroad must attach a document on academic recognition of education in Latvia);
Copy of state language proficiency certificate for candidates who did not receive education in Latvian.

Monthly salary – 2009.00 euro in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 445 of July 5, 2016 "Regulations on Teacher Compensation." Based on work performance evaluation, the monthly salary amount may be increased in accordance with the August 24, 2023 regulations "Criteria for Evaluating the Work of Directors of General Education, Professional Education, Interest Education and Professional-Oriented Education Institutions Established by Jelgava State City Municipality for Determining Higher Monthly Salary Rates."
