Skogsstyrelsen Seeks Legal Counsel Specialists

Are you a lawyer with extensive experience from the public sector? Do you have legal expertise from qualified work with administrative law, government assignments, EU law-related matters, freedom of information and confidentiality, and perhaps have previously assisted an organization with legal questions regarding digitalization? There is significant activity in the forestry sector, and therefore we need to strengthen our Legal Unit with two additional legal counsel specialists. The unit currently employs eleven legal counsel specialists and a unit manager. The work tasks are varied and cover a large number of legal areas. We actively work with monitoring legal developments and assist the agency in implementing new legislation, responding to referrals, and providing various types of statements. The unit also supports the agency in developing governance and support documents. We are now seeking reinforcement, particularly within EU law, administrative law, freedom of information and confidentiality, and digitalization. Work Tasks As a legal counsel specialist, you will provide qualified internal legal support within the agency. The work is varied and you often work in teams with colleagues from different professional categories. A legal counsel specialist primarily works with: - Participating in and providing support in connection with government assignments and referral and investigation work - Providing support on other matters occurring at the agency, such as contract law, freedom of information and confidentiality, procurement, and damages - Participating in and supporting the agency's work on regulations - Conducting legal training within the agency - Working with broader development initiatives within the agency - Providing support in case handling, including writing statements and providing support in connection with legal proceedings. Qualifications We are seeking you if you have: - A Swedish law degree (juris kandidat or full law degree, 180 credits/270 higher education credits) - Several years of current experience working as a lawyer in the public sector - Current experience having worked in a qualified manner with EU law and digitalization issues - Very strong knowledge of administrative law - Very strong knowledge of freedom of information and confidentiality - Very strong ability to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. It is meritorious if you: - Are a notary or have worked as a legal advisor or rapporteur at a court - Have had an active role as a lawyer in business development work - Have worked on matters related to information security - Have experience working with other legislation within Skogsstyrelsen's area of responsibility.
