Your Future Workplace The Swedish Forest Agency is seeking a forest consultant who wants to work with the supervision of harvest notifications. We are looking for 1 forest consultant for the Northern Jämtland district where you will be part of the Supervision team for Jämtland. The work is primarily within the county but can take place across the entire northern region. You will be stationed at one of the district's offices; see current locations further down in this posting. As a forest consultant, you will have a job with varied and stimulating tasks as well as continuous professional development. Work Tasks You will initially work primarily with processing harvest notifications, supervision according to the Forestry Act and the Environmental Code. Tasks are performed mainly at the office, but fieldwork occurs. The work involves contact with forest owners, other active participants in forestry, and relevant authorities and organizations. As an employee of the Swedish Forest Agency, you are expected to contribute to the development of our operations. Depending on your expertise, focus, and operational needs, other work may also become relevant. Qualifications For this position, you must have a forestry university degree or another relevant education with corresponding experience in our field of work. Relevant work experience is a merit. We would like to see that you have experience in both forest production and forest nature conservation issues. Experience in public administration, knowledge of species in forest environments, the Administrative Procedure Act and natural value assessments are merits, as are experience and knowledge in the legal field. We value strong IT/GIS skills. We place great importance on your personal qualities. You should be flexible, easy to collaborate with in the group, outgoing with experience working independently, and have good organizational skills. Collaboration skills and the ability to conduct dialogue in a pedagogical manner externally with forest owners and forestry officials are important qualities. You should have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing. A driver's license for cars is a requirement. Terms We offer a permanent full-time position (100%) that begins with a 6-month probationary period. Start date by agreement. Stationery location is at one of the district's offices in Järpen, Strömsund, or Östersund. During week 31, no supervisor is available to answer questions, but feel free to use email and they will respond as soon as possible.
