The Swedish Forest Agency is seeking you to work with the supervision of timber harvesting notifications. We are hiring 1 forest consultant for the Northern Jämtland district, where you will be part of the Supervision team for Jämtland. The work is primarily within the county but can take place throughout the northern region. You will be based at one of the district's offices; see current locations further down in the announcement.
As a forest consultant, you will have a job with varied and stimulating tasks and ongoing professional development.
Duties
Initially, you will primarily work with processing timber harvesting notifications, supervision according to the Forestry Act and the Environmental Code. Work is performed mainly at the office, but field work occurs. The role involves contact with forest owners, other active parties in forestry, and relevant authorities and organizations. As an employee of the Swedish Forest Agency, you are expected to contribute to the development of our operations.
Depending on your competence, specialization, and the needs of the operations, other work may also become relevant.
Qualifications
For this position, you are required to have forest-related higher education or another relevant education with accompanying experience within our field of work. Relevant work experience is advantageous. We would like to see that you have experience with both forest production and forestry nature conservation issues. Experience with government authority functions, knowledge of species in forest environments, administrative law, and nature value assessments are advantageous, as is experience and knowledge in the legal field. We value strong IT/GIS skills.
We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. You should be flexible, easy to collaborate with in a group, outgoing with a habit of working independently, and have good organizational skills. Collaboration skills and the ability to conduct dialogue in a pedagogical manner externally with forest owners and forestry officials are important qualities. You should have excellent ability to express yourself in speech and writing.
A valid driver's license is required.
Terms
We offer a permanent employment at 100% beginning with a 6-month probationary period.
Start date by agreement.
The duty station will be at one of the district's offices in Järpen, Strömsund, or Östersund.
During week 31, there is no supervisor available to answer questions, but feel free to use email and they will respond as soon as possible.
