About the Position Role Content and Responsibilities: In your role as a forest nature conservation specialist in the Forest & Land unit, you have a coordinating role in the permitting process for forest maintenance work. You ensure that required notifications, permits, and exemptions are in place for forest maintenance. The work is carried out in collaboration with colleagues in the unit, forest maintenance engineers, and forest strategists. The work also involves instructing and leading contract entrepreneurs who perform the work in the field as well as monitoring completed work. Your responsibilities also include: Developing and improving work methods, routines, and processes Ongoing dialogue with our contract entrepreneurs and their subcontractors Dialogue with relevant authorities, such as the County Administrative Board, the Swedish Forest Agency, and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency Species protection assessments and, if necessary, applying for exemptions from species protection regulations Collaborating with units within Svenska kraftnät that work on environmental law matters, consultations, and permits for new construction Monitoring work performed for increased biodiversity and investigating the need for new methods in the field Planning and monitoring nature conservation measures within power line corridors and forest properties Participating in and, if necessary, driving the development of system support related to the permitting process for forest maintenance work Managing invasive species Field work before, during, and after maintenance operations About You This position suits you if you are results-oriented and driven by finding smart, creative solutions to our challenges. As a forest nature conservation specialist—a new role at Svenska kraftnät—you will have great opportunities to develop work methods, procedures, and processes within the permitting work related to forest maintenance. Forest maintenance is a prerequisite for safe and reliable power grid operations and takes place year-round, which requires structure, planning, and a focus on results. You are responsible for obtaining permits in a timely manner and ensuring compliance with conditions, where you use an analytical and solution-oriented approach to balance different interests against each other, for example, operational safety and environmental considerations. To succeed in this role, you are relationship-building and enjoy dialogue with different stakeholders. With good judgment, you balance different interests against each other and are motivated by developing in a growing organization in change, where your commitment and flexibility make a difference. Forest & Land is a relatively new unit at Svenska kraftnät responsible for forest maintenance of power line corridors as well as property management. The unit consists of six employees located throughout the country and is part of the Maintenance section, which in total has approximately 50 employees and is responsible for maintenance of power lines, cables, fiber optics, and substations.
