About the job The Crime Prevention Division's mission is to prevent, combat, and investigate financial crime, serious tax evasion, both nationally and internationally, and population registration used as a crime tool. As an investigator in national and international VAT cases, you primarily work with investigating, analyzing, and deciding on various VAT matters. The work tasks include, among other things, identifying and stopping incorrect payments and various forms of system abuse. Investigations should be conducted from a holistic perspective, which includes assessing which measure and investigation method provides the best effect in each investigation. Based on laws and regulations, you make assessments and decisions. We use evidence preservation, cooperation with other countries, and cooperation with other authorities. The work is qualified and you will learn and gain new knowledge both broadly and in depth. The work requires high efficiency and quality, and you are expected to be able to assess which measure and investigation method is best suited in each individual case. You will belong to either section 2 or 4 at the crime prevention unit 7 in the Crime Prevention Division, located in Malmö or Helsingborg. The unit has approximately 160 colleagues. In this job you will: independently plan and drive your work forward to achieve results be good at collaborating and supporting others to reach common goals have the ability and willingness to learn new things, be flexible and open to change have good problem-solving ability, see patterns, and be able to make delimitations act consciously and professionally based on good self-awareness You should also have: a university degree of at least 180 higher education credits (120 credits) in a relevant area such as economics or law, alternatively several years of current and relevant work experience with VAT investigations at the Tax Agency several years of current and relevant work experience in auditing, accounting, or analytical work in the economics field, alternatively several years of current and relevant work experience with VAT investigations at the Tax Agency or another crime investigation authority. Good to know The employment is permanent and may begin with a six-month probation period. You will be based in Malmö or at our office in Helsingborg. Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security clearance with register check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before an employment decision.
