Here you get the opportunity to work closely with experienced tax experts in a unique specialist environment. About the job The Tax Court decides on cases concerning advance rulings on tax matters. The court operates in two divisions, one for direct taxation and one for indirect taxation. The members are appointed by the government and have experience from different areas of activity. At the court's disposal is an office that is shared by the Tax Court and the Research Tax Court. The office's main task is to handle applications for advance rulings and to present cases before the court. As a tax attorney, you primarily work with handling and presenting cases in the direct taxation division. The questions concern, among other things, corporate taxation, capital taxation, and international taxation. It may also become relevant to work with cases involving indirect taxation, such as value-added tax and excise tax. The work involves investigating and analyzing qualified tax law issues and preparing materials for the court's decisions. You work closely with the court's chair and your colleagues at the office. You are part of an office with twelve employees, ten of whom are tax attorneys, an administrator, and an office manager. The office has modern premises in Garnisonen at Karlavägen 108 in Stockholm with private offices for all employees. About you In this role, you should: Have exceptionally strong analytical abilities and be able to make qualified legal assessments be able to independently conduct and complete complex investigations with high quality have very good collaboration skills and contribute to well-functioning cooperation in a small work group be flexible and able to adapt to the organization's needs be able to express yourself very well in speech and writing in Swedish, and have good knowledge of English be able to analyze information flows, identify connections, and make decisions. You should also have: a law degree of 270hp/180p current, relevant, and several years of professional experience with qualified tax legal work. It is desirable that you have current and relevant professional experience from work in the Administrative Court of Appeal or the Supreme Administrative Court, current and relevant experience with proceedings at the Tax Court or the Supreme Administrative Court, current and relevant professional experience from the Government Offices, the Swedish Tax Agency, or other activities involving qualified tax legal work. Good to know The employment is permanent and may begin with a six-month probationary period. The position involves employment with the Swedish Tax Agency, which is the Tax Court's host authority. Placement may be at one of the Swedish Tax Agency's offices, but the role assumes regular travel to Stockholm and recurring presence at the Tax Court's office.
