Umeå Municipality's Health and Care for the Elderly is now recruiting nurses for placement at Unit 2 at Prästsjögården, a new unit focused on individuals at the end of life and people with extensive care and nursing needs. Here you will have the opportunity to shape work methods, structure, and teamwork from the start. About the Workplace Prästsjögården is a care and residential facility in Umeå Municipality. At Unit 2, we are developing an operation where safety, continuity, symptom relief, participation, and quality of life are central aspects of care. Care is provided within the framework of municipal health and medical care at the primary care level. This means that as a nurse, you work close to patients and the team, with a focus on assessments, follow-up, planning, and support in challenging care situations. The unit consists of 11 places and is aimed at individuals with palliative care orientation, where the need for closeness, structure, and coordination is significant. Work is conducted in close collaboration with care staff, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, physician, social services, managers, and relatives. Your Role As a nurse at Unit 2, you will have a qualified and meaningful role where your clinical expertise, your approach, and your ability to create a sense of security are of great importance. You work with customary nursing tasks within municipal health and medical care, with particular focus on individuals at the end of life and people with complex care needs. Your role includes, among other things: conduct independent assessments and follow up on patients' health status plan, implement, and evaluate health and medical care interventions work with symptom relief, safety, participation, and quality of life identify changing needs and coordinate efforts together with the team collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and care staff guide and support care staff in daily work meet and support relatives in complex and emotionally difficult situations work with medication management, documentation, and quality assurance contribute to developing routines, work methods, and collaboration at a new unit The role requires you to be able to prioritize, create calm in changing situations, and contribute to safe and professional teamwork. Who Are We Looking For? We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and want to work with patients where nursing care, clinical assessments, continuity, and approach are crucial. You are confident in your professional role and have the ability to make independent decisions within your assignment. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working closely with other professions. You have a structured work approach and can remain calm even when situations change rapidly. To thrive with us, you need to have a genuine interest in caring for individuals at the end of life and people with extensive care and nursing needs. You also need to be able to meet patients and relatives with respect, attentiveness, and professionalism. We are looking for someone who: is confident, responsible, and solution-focused has good ability to prioritize and create structure enjoyed teamwork and collaboration but also has the ability to work independently has a mentoring approach toward care staff can meet relatives in difficult situations in a calm and professional manner wants to contribute to developing a new unit and new work methods sees the value of both clinical quality and good nursing care Since Unit 2 is under development, we are looking for someone who wants to help build a stable, safe, and sustainable operation together with colleagues and management. Qualifications Licensed nurse Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English Interest in caring for individuals at the end of life and people with complex care needs B-category driver's license Meriting Experience Education in palliative care Experience with palliative care work Experience in municipal health and medical care Experience caring for people with extensive care and nursing needs Experience working with relatives in complex care situations Experience mentoring care staff District nurse training, palliative nursing, or other relevant further education What We Offer A meaningful and qualified nursing role where you get to work close to patients and be an important part of the team caring for individuals at the end of life.
