The unit is organized into different treatment teams based on cancer diagnosis. Currently, we treat patients with urological and gastroenterological cancer. Treatments have both curative and palliative intent. With us, you work with medical technical equipment and administer intravenous medications, including chemotherapy. In addition to the treatment teams, we have a day care team (DJ) that receives patients in need of acute medical assessment or care, for example in case of side effects from their illness or treatment complications. The team also handles allergic reactions, is responsible for pre- and postoperative care in connection with subcutaneous port placement and various types of punctures. We also have medical consultations where primary care nurses and nursing assistants work. You are employed at the Oncology Department Medical Treatment, which consists of different units, meaning you work across the entire department and thus meet patients with different diagnoses. TASKS In your role as a nurse, you have great responsibility and make your own assessments before planned chemotherapy treatment. In addition to administering treatments, you inform the patient about the chemotherapy, its effects and possible side effects, and handle any hypersensitivity reactions. You are responsible for long-term planning regarding the patient's treatment and cancer rehabilitation. The work follows the patient-responsible nurse model (PAS), where you as a nurse provide continuity of care. The work involves a great deal of phone contact, such as consultations, telephone orders, and follow-up calls regarding side effects. We strive to work in a patient-centered manner, which requires attentiveness from you and means that you conduct supportive and difficult conversations. As a team member, you are engaged and involved in the operation and development of the department as well as the work environment and team climate. We offer you: - good introduction - continuous mentoring - development opportunities QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with authorization to practice in Swedish healthcare and who have worked as a nurse for at least some years. Swedish language skills at least equivalent to level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale are a requirement. Furthermore, it is advantageous if you have further education in oncology or experience from oncological nursing or similar activities. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
