About the Workplace Forensic Psychiatry Care Stockholm provides forensic psychiatric care for patients from throughout Stockholm County and has approximately 550 employees distributed across two sections, north and south. The clinic has 15 care units and 2 outpatient clinics. Operations are spread across three facilities and located at Helix, Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge, and Löwenström Hospital in Upplands Väsby. Forensic Psychiatric Acute Unit (H1-H2) The Forensic Psychiatric Acute Unit (H1-H2) is located at Helix in Flemingsberg and maintains the highest security level (1). The acute unit consists of two departments and an observation unit where we admit newly admitted patients. In our operations, we daily encounter patients suffering from serious mental disorders, often combined with somatic illness. Our unit receives and cares for acutely mentally ill patients primarily under the Forensic Psychiatric Care Act (LRV). We care for patients recently sentenced to forensic psychiatric care, patients who are remanded in custody or clients of the correctional service in need of psychiatric compulsory care. We also receive patients whose condition has deteriorated during their stay on our care units, as well as patients attending our forensic psychiatric outpatient clinic. You have a clear central management function on the unit with primary responsibility for care planning and manage a care team together with several care assistants/nursing assistants. As a nurse, you act confidently in acute situations and are part of a team of physicians, psychologists, mental health care workers/nursing assistants, social workers, and occupational therapists to create the best possible care for our patients together. You will be given an individually tailored introduction, and thereafter we offer a salary supplement that is unique to the acute unit. As a nurse, you hold expanded management responsibility during evenings and weekends. Qualifications We are seeking someone who is a licensed nurse; specialist training in psychiatry is an asset. Previous experience working in psychiatry, addiction care, and/or correctional services is an asset. In your interactions with patients, you are always professional, attentive, and unbiased. You are helpful, but can also be clear and set boundaries when necessary. You have excellent teamwork skills and thrive working in a team while being able to work independently and lead others.
