Description:

Ward 5 is a child and adolescent psychiatric care unit with 6 beds serving the entire Örebro region. We admit children and adolescents with serious psychiatric conditions for acute inpatient care. Patients are cared for together with their guardian(s), and the goal of inpatient treatment is primarily to stabilize acute distress so they can return home and continue care in outpatient settings. On Ward 5, we work in a cohesive multidisciplinary team that, in addition to nurses, includes a social worker, nursing assistant, physician, teacher, and unit manager. We actively engage in developmental work to address our mission in a safe and professional manner. Job Duties Job duties include psychiatric nursing care, including relationship building, supportive conversations, and motivational work. Medication management is one of the duties, as is contact with family members and collaboration with our outpatient care and other care partners. As a nurse, you lead and coordinate work and, together with the rest of the team, are responsible for ensuring patients receive good care and recovery. Qualifications We are primarily seeking specialist nurses with a focus on psychiatry, but registered nurses without a specialist nurse degree are also welcome to apply. As a new team member, you will be assigned a mentor for support. You need to be confident in your professional role, have excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing, maintain high quality documentation, be responsible, have strong collaboration skills, good judgment, and the ability to make independent decisions. We value an open and positive attitude, with the patient at the center. It is important that you are unpretentious, curious about learning new things, and view constructive feedback as a natural part of daily work for your own and others' development. Contributing to the operations' development and quality improvement is something you see as a natural part of your work. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Application The application should include a CV and cover letter. Certificates, transcripts, diplomas, and other documents should be submitted at a potential interview. Selection and interviews take place on an ongoing basis. If you are or have previously been employed by Region Örebro län, we will request internal references from your current or former manager if you are considered for employment. Background check from the Police Authority may be conducted in accordance with current legislation. As an employee of Region Örebro län, you are covered by secure collective agreements. About the Operations Child and adolescent psychiatry is part of specialized psychiatric care. The operations include outpatient clinics, enhanced outpatient care, and an inpatient ward with acute services. A contact center for children and young people with mental health issues is also part of the operations, with the mission to provide advice, conduct assessments, and triage to the appropriate level of care. We provide treatment both individually and in groups, as well as scheduled and acute visits and telephone counseling. We also offer psychoeducational interventions to patients and family members. Together, we are approximately 150 employees working with shared processes and goals. We work in multidisciplinary teams based on a holistic view of the person and tailor care interventions to the patient's needs and circumstances. We work to promote children's mental health and development and to ensure family members' participation in care. Psychiatry in Region Örebro län is a specialized operation divided into five service areas, all with strong focus on ethics, collaboration, and development, as well as a well-functioning education and research environment.
