The Orthopedics Unit (VO) at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) has over 500 employees and is one of Sweden's largest orthopedic operations. Our services are provided in both Lund and Malmö. Each year we see over 85,000 visits at our clinics and have approximately 6,700 inpatients. Our patient population includes both children and adults. The Orthopedic Clinic in Malmö is organized so that the teams for shoulder, foot, sports medicine, back, trauma, and osteoporosis have their main operations based in Malmö. Approximately 600 visits are conducted each week at the Malmö clinic. The clinic receives patients for initial visits (assessment/evaluation) and follow-up visits, for example after previous surgery. We work in teams around the patient to provide the best possible care. 1 position(s). DUTIES We are now seeking a nurse with an interest in orthopedics who wants to work with these patients. With us you will receive varied and developmental clinic work within highly specialized orthopedics. A central part of the position is surgery planning and preoperative preparation, where you inform, prepare, and coordinate for surgery. You work closely with physicians, nurse assistants, surgical coordinators, day care, and nursing wards and play an important role in creating a safe and efficient patient flow. You handle patient counseling via phone and 1177, provide support before and after surgery, and handle acute inquiries. You are an important contact for patients and relatives throughout the care process here at the orthopedic clinic. The work is independent but conducted in close collaboration with other nurses, nurse assistants, medical secretaries, and physicians. The position is primarily daytime on weekdays but may include two weekend shifts per month. You will receive structured introduction with shadowing and support from experienced colleagues. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Swedish language skills at least equivalent to level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale is a requirement. We would also like you to have previous experience working with orthopedic patients, but this is not required. Previous experience with clinic work is also considered an advantage. We use IT support extensively to facilitate care and free up time for personal meetings, so it is an advantage if you have experience working with Melior, Pasis, and Orbit. We are looking for someone who is confident in your professional role, comfortable taking responsibility, and has the ability to make both large and small decisions. Furthermore, it is essential that you always base your work on the patient's needs and that your approach is characterized by commitment and attentiveness.
