About the Operations Future Operating Care at Falun Hospital Day surgery at Falun Hospital has a strong focus on developing and improving operations. We perform approximately 3,000 operations annually. Thanks to advances in anesthesia methods and surgical techniques, we can now perform more and more advanced procedures as day surgery, and development is happening rapidly. Day surgery is part of the OR/Anesthesia/ICU clinic, where approximately 350 employees work, of which about 50 are at day surgery. Operations: We have five operating rooms that are open Monday-Friday. Our hours are: Monday-Thursday: 07:00 - 19:00 Friday: 07:00 - 16:00 We offer day surgery operations for patients from the surgery clinic, women's clinic, orthopedic clinic, and pediatric clinic. Day surgery in Falun can now offer a pregnancy-related temporary position for a registered nurse (basic qualification). The contract will initially be for 1 year but can be extended depending on how long the regular employee is absent. The position will end when the regular employee returns to work. Start date is by agreement, but it would be advantageous if you can start working with us as soon as possible. Job Responsibilities As a nurse with us, you work in close collaboration with an interprofessional team consisting of nurses, nursing assistants, anesthesiologists from the OR/Anesthesia/ICU clinic, and physicians and nurses from the surgical departments. Job responsibilities: Pre-operative care: Prepare patients for surgery, which includes IV placement, pre-medication, and information. We receive patients from age three and older. Post-operative care: After surgery, you receive the patient, receive report from the surgical team, and are responsible for post-operative care. Responsibilities include: Monitoring and documentation of vital parameters Pain management and medication Post-operative information and planning Prepare the patient for discharge, ensuring they are well pain-managed, comfortable, and not nauseous Work Schedule: You work Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, with one evening shift (until 19:00) per week in the unit's recovery area. The facility is closed during holidays and red days, and you will be off those days. Teamwork: We work with a team focus, and all employees contribute across the entire unit (pre-op, operating room, post-op). There is also some opportunity to work in the operating room together with an anesthesia nurse, where you can contribute with, for example, IV placement and patient positioning/preparation for surgery.
