VO Adult Psychiatry Kristianstad offers specialized psychiatric care in northeastern and southeastern Scania. Despite our geographic distribution, our operations are characterized by proximity, collaboration, and short decision-making processes. Department 4 is a general psychiatric care unit, which means you provide psychiatric nursing care within the broad spectrum of psychiatry. You meet people with affective disorders, personality disorders, psychotic illness, anxiety problems, crisis situations, substance abuse, and more. Our operations also include patient-directed inpatient beds.
For us, it is important to retain and recruit nurses who want to stay and develop within the organization. In 2023, we started a new introduction program for newly hired nurses that extends over one year to ensure competence and confidence for new nurses. WORK TASKS
In your role as a nurse, you design care based on a person-centered approach. You are expected to lead the nursing work together with nursing assistants/caregivers. In addition, work tasks include monitoring health status, assessing nursing needs, offering supportive conversations and advice, medication management, and documentation.
Working within psychiatric 24-hour care provides experience that will benefit you throughout your career. With us, you get a central role in psychiatric nursing care, with time to get to know patients and work person-centered. You develop your expertise in both psychiatric and somatic nursing care, as many of our patients have complex care needs. Together with your team colleagues, there is room for reflection and experience sharing. We work with low-affective interactions and strive to reduce the need for coercive measures. Each patient has two to three contact persons who, together with the patient, plan and follow up on care.
We work in a team consisting of nursing assistants, nurses, social workers, physicians, physiotherapists, medical secretaries, and a unit manager, where everyone collaborates to provide the best care and quality to our patients.
We encourage care development and improvement work in various forms. With us, you get to participate in developing the content of our 24-hour care such as person-centered care, safe and meaningful 24-hour care, domestic violence, suicide prevention work, and much more.
As a newly hired employee, you receive an individually tailored introduction, mentorship, a base year including seminars, lectures, and opportunities for networking with both new and more experienced colleagues. In addition, specialist training may be relevant within the scope of your employment.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with authorization to work within Swedish healthcare. Swedish language skills corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are required. We welcome both you with longer experience and you who are new to your nursing role. We consider it a merit if you have experience working within psychiatry and/or specialist training in psychiatry. Likewise, if you have experience working in the systems Melior and/or Mina Planer.
As a person, you are calm and confident in your professional role. In your work, you are flexible and have a quality-conscious and positive approach. Since you are expected to lead the nursing work, there are also requirements for a good ability to plan and structure your work and the ability to look beyond and see the bigger picture of the organization. At the same time, you are a good team player who sees collaboration as a prerequisite for good work. You are receptive to both patients, relatives, and colleagues and contribute to a good work climate in the work group. As we are keen to find the right person for the position, we place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Assistive devices have the task of managing assistive devices prescribed to patients in Scania. Within the department, there is also vision, hearing, and deaf services and youth clinics in Scania.
