Job Responsibilities
A nurse at a special housing facility is responsible for health and medical care up to nursing level and is responsible for planning and implementing patient care and treatment. Laws, regulations, and policy objectives guide the work.
Core responsibilities:
- Assess, make decisions, set goals, document in nursing records according to the patient records act, plan, prioritize, perform, delegate, follow up on health and medical care measures, communicate, lead nursing staff, report deviations and participate in investigations of these.
- Collaboration in multiprofessional teams, responsibility for medication management and ensuring that physician orders are followed and evaluated, ordering medications, incontinence products, medical supplies, medical-technical products, etc.
Interventions can be preventive, curative, symptom-relieving, and rehabilitative.
The nurse's responsibilities also include supervising, informing and training other staff and students, introducing new employees, and improving and developing the quality of operations.

We are looking for you as a nurse, preferably with further education in "care of the elderly, dementia, or similar." You want to contribute to creating added value in collaboration with the multiprofessional team you will be part of, where other key players are the unit manager, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, nursing staff, and social worker.
As a new employee, you will be offered a mentor and an introduction of approximately 3-6 weeks depending on your previous experience.
Work as a nurse at a special housing facility is varied, free, and characterized by trust and freedom under responsibility. The job includes independently assessing, planning, performing/delegating, leading, and documenting health and medical care measures. The role includes supervising, informing, and training nursing staff. Of course, the nurse actively participates in the team at the facility/unit where the unit manager, nursing staff, and rehabilitation are naturally included, and where everyone has the patient in focus.
You are part of a larger operation. The patient's best interest is always our focus, which means the role requires both internal and external collaboration. In addition to the patients you have nursing responsibility for, you and your colleagues share overall responsibility for other patients. As a nurse at a special housing facility, you work weekdays, daytime Monday through Friday.

Since the majority of our patients are elderly and have multiple conditions, you need to feel confident when meeting with this patient group and have the ability to understand their perspective. You are comfortable making independent decisions, making medical assessments, and prioritizing.
