For this role, we are looking for someone with several years of experience as a nurse and in acute care. Could you be our new colleague? About the Workplace The Pre- and Post-operative Unit has three departments: Preop, Postop 2, and Postop/Day Surgery. The immediate team consists of specialist nurses, registered nurses, and nursing assistants. We work closely with all professions at the clinic and various surgeons, where everyone's experience and expertise play an important role. We work daily for high patient safety and operate from a holistic perspective with the patient in focus. In the Preop unit, we prepare patients coming from home for surgery, which gives us the opportunity to optimize patients and improve workflows before surgery. In the Postop 2 and Postop/Day Surgery units, we are responsible for post-operative care of children and adults who have undergone anesthesia and surgery in inpatient and day surgery care. Patients who have undergone examinations or imaging under anesthesia also come to us for monitoring. We have eight beds in the Preop unit. Postop has 13 beds in each of the Postop 2 and Postop/Day Surgery units. The work involves rotating between the different units, and initially day and evening shifts apply before night work becomes relevant. You will develop your ability to assess the patient's vital parameters, understand the connections between different vital functions, and identify possible complications after surgery. The job responsibilities include preparing the patient for surgery by assisting with epidural/nerve blocks, continuously monitoring the patient's vital parameters, performing regular evaluation, and providing supportive treatment to prevent organ failure. You have great responsibility in creating conditions for the patient's recovery, preventing and alleviating pain, nausea, and anxiety in the post-operative patient by early detection of complications related to anesthesia or surgery. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse with several years of professional experience and experience in acute hospital care. Training as a specialist nurse in, for example, acute care, ICU, anesthesia, medicine, or surgery is a merit. If you also have knowledge of the Cosmic medical record system, it is an advantage since we work in that system. Since teamwork is important to us, we see that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. For you to thrive with us, it is important that you are confident and stable in your profession as a nurse. We see that you take responsibility and plan your work efficiently. You adapt easily to new circumstances and can quickly change your perspective when the situation requires it. You have a good ability to collaborate with others by listening and communicating in a clear and constructive manner.
