Registered Nurse - Post-Operative Unit/Department 53, Sunderby Hospital

About the Position We're looking for you who are a licensed registered nurse and want to continue growing in your profession. You'll have a unique opportunity to follow acutely ill patients through the entire care process, from preoperative care all the way to discharge. It's advantageous if you have experience in surgical care, acute care, and/or postoperative care, but we also encourage you who have worked as a registered nurse for at least one year to apply. What You'll Be Doing This is a rotation position, which means you'll work 5 weeks in Department 53 - acute surgery and 5 weeks in post-op. You'll therefore be a very important link between the two operations where you contribute to strong collaboration. Both workplaces have great work teams that are engaged and competent, and you'll work together with different professional groups as well as doctors in the acute team and anesthesia. You'll be responsible for nursing care for both newly operated and acutely ill patients. You'll work with both advanced medical equipment and advanced medical care. You'll meet patients of different ages with a wide variety of surgical procedures and medical conditions. It's varied and educational work with occasionally high pace, and the acute patients ensure that no two days are alike. We work with person-centered care based on evidence-based knowledge and we have specialist nurses available for support.
