What We're Looking For We are seeking a licensed nurse with strong Swedish language skills at a minimum of C1 level. We also expect good computer skills. If you have specialist training in internal medicine, geriatrics, or other advanced education focused on elderly care, that's a plus. Knowledge of Finnish and English is advantageous, as it facilitates communication with patients and their families. We also value experience from work in care units, rural health centers, or municipal home care services, where you have developed strong independent work abilities and the capacity to handle varying care needs. Your Responsibilities On the acute care unit, we have six patient beds, and you will work as part of a team with a nursing assistant or nurse. As a nurse on the care ward, you are responsible for leading and coordinating work related to patient care. Together with other staff, you have overall responsibility for planning, implementing, monitoring, and documenting both care interventions and medical treatment. Your work includes standard nursing tasks such as medication administration, patient sampling, care, documentation, and care planning. As a nurse on the care ward, you hold a central and dynamic role where you are responsible for receiving patients who need care and treatment during on-call hours. You work closely with doctors from Kalix Hospital, with support via phone and digital communication channels, which gives you an important and independent role in patient flow. We collaborate with Övertorneå Municipality's health and medical care unit, which means that during certain shifts you may be responsible for the municipality's on-call operations. Working hours: three shifts - day, evening, night. Start date: August 17 or by agreement. Selection and interviews take place on a rolling basis, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
