Description:

As a nurse at the Oncology Clinic's day care department, you will have the opportunity to create continuity, engagement, and security for patients and their families during an important part of their lives. We offer a workplace where collaboration, learning, and development are a natural part of everyday work. Here you will work close to patients, develop your skills in modern cancer treatment, and participate in the development of future cancer care. Job Responsibilities In the day care department, we treat patients with various cancer diseases, and you will follow patients through much of their treatment period. The work includes both advanced patient care and medical technical procedures. You are responsible for planned treatments, monitor effects and side effects, and inform and guide patients and their families regarding treatment and medication. Telephone advice and support for patients' self-care are also a natural part of the assignment. You plan much of your own work and maintain your own schedule while working closely with colleagues from different professions. Together you create safe and secure care where the patient's needs are at the center. Cancer care is continuously developing through new medications, treatment methods, and work procedures. With us, you become part of an operation that is at the forefront, where development, learning, and improvement work are a natural part of everyday work. We are also in an exciting transition toward more proximal and person-centered care, where the goal is for patients to increasingly receive their treatment closer to home. We have also implemented and developed cytodos, a program for ordering, manufacturing, and administering, among other things, cytostatic drugs. We are part of the Oncology Clinic in Västerås, where approximately 130 employees work in outpatient care, inpatient care, radiation therapy, and cancer rehabilitation.
