Are you a registered nurse interested in highly specialized neurological care? Do you want to work on a ward with both acute admissions and planned hospitalizations, investigations, and treatments? Then 85D is the workplace for you! Our Operations On Neurology Ward 85D, you will meet patients with a wide variety of neurological diagnoses. Neurological diseases and conditions can affect patients of all ages, which means our patient base varies in age and underlying conditions. Length of stay varies from one day to weeks. Here, adult patients with diseases and injuries of the central, peripheral, and autonomic nervous systems are investigated and treated. Common disease groups that are investigated and treated by us include Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), myasthenia gravis, and motor neuron diseases (MNS). We also meet patients who have acutely developed inflammatory, autoimmune, or infection-triggered conditions with neurological symptoms such as encephalitis, meningitis, and Guillain-Barré syndrome. For patients being investigated or who have epilepsy, there are two rooms for 24-hour EEG monitoring. The ward has 12 care beds distributed across two teams. With us, you will have a workday that is educational, varied, and meaningful. Your day can consist of pre- and postoperative preparations, infusion treatments, medication administration and follow-ups, as well as caring for patients who arrive as scheduled or emergencies. There are hundreds of different neurological diseases and conditions, which contributes to broad expertise among staff with great focus on individualized care. You have daily collaboration with nursing assistants, doctors, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists, as well as close cooperation with pharmacists, speech therapists, and dietitians. We place great emphasis on skills development and offer weekly lectures and continuous simulation training based on the SMART concept. At the same time, we actively work to create a good and sustainable work environment where we support each other and have fun at work. Each semester, we offer in-depth courses in neurological and neurosurgical care. Your Assignment As a registered nurse with us, you will be an important part of an engaged and conscientious team. • Oversee a care team and provide care to patients in both acute and planned stages. • Collaborate with various professionals to provide the patient with safe, secure, and holistic care. • Support the patient and family in educating them about medical technical products. • Identify and assist with care planning needs. Your Qualifications You are a licensed registered nurse – experienced or newly graduated – who wants to grow within neurology. Your Competence You are curious about finding underlying causes of symptoms and want to be an important person for the patient and family during a life-changing time. • You are a reliable, stable, and considerate registered nurse who works in a structured manner. • You are curious, solution-oriented, and have a positive approach. • You are collaborative and enjoy working in a team. • You have the ability to prioritize and stay calm even when the pace is high. • You are interested in medical technical products and advanced medication treatments.
