About the position Welcome to an exciting operation where we conduct both research and education. We are the sole provider in Stockholm for investigating patients with suspected dementia, particularly difficult-to-diagnose patients in need of second opinion, patients with BPSD (behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia), and patients with confusional states. Patients are referred to us from primary care centers, psychiatric clinics, other memory units, other hospitals, and internally. We also accept acute admissions 24/7. Our mission is primarily a regional assignment, but we also accept patients from other parts of the country when our expertise is requested. In some cases, we also accept patients younger than 65 years old. The department has 10 care beds and patients stay an average of eight days. We are a well-composed multidisciplinary team consisting of, among others, nurses, nursing assistants, physicians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, social worker, psychologists, and speech-language pathologists, as well as access to psychiatric consultations. As a nurse, you are responsible for patient care in consultation with other care staff. You work with, among other things, medication management, planning for admission and discharge, and care planning. The department also conducts specific treatments and investigations where your competence as a nurse is important. We are seeking two registered nurses for night shift positions. We are looking for you who - Have a genuine interest in working with patients with cognitive impairment and somatic conditions and have a clear patient focus in your work - Have good empathetic ability and are responsive to patients' and relatives' needs, even in difficult situations and during crises - Collaborate well with others and contribute to good teamwork by listening, communicating clearly, and creating participation - Keep yourself updated within your profession and have an interest in developing your knowledge in caring for patients with cognitive impairment and dementia - Work in a goal- and results-oriented manner and let the needs of the operations and patients guide your priorities, planning, and actions Qualifications Requirements: - Licensed registered nurse Merits: - Experience working as a nurse, preferably with elderly patients and/or in acute care About the recruitment process Selection and interviews may take place continuously during the application period.
