At KAVA, the Surgical Acute Care Unit, we care for patients with acute surgical and trauma diagnoses. The patient population is varied and common diagnoses include, for example, appendicitis, ileus, gastrointestinal bleeding, trauma, and urological diseases. KAVA has 24 inpatient beds and receives the majority of the acute surgical flow from the emergency department. The goal of KAVA is to focus on acute flow with rapid handling and short care periods with focus on the best for our patients. We are a stable staff group that has fun together and supports each other.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nurse with us at KAVA, you are offered fun and continuously developing work that gives you a good start in your nursing career and broad expertise. You are responsible for nursing care of six patients and work together with a nursing assistant. In each care team around the patient there is also a designated physician and we have close collaboration with occupational therapists and physiotherapists. Support functions such as care planning nurse, specialist nurse in surgery/acute care, and receptionist are available during office hours. We work three out of eight weekends. Night work by agreement.
As a nurse with us, you will work with among other things
• leading the care team you are responsible for
• coordinating medical and nursing care matters
• preparation and administration of medications, infusion/pain therapy
• round work
• basic nursing care.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a licensed registered nurse with a genuine interest in surgery and acute care. To thrive with us, you need to be able to handle and appreciate the varying days on an acute care unit. Work tasks and pace vary throughout the day, which is why you should be able to reprioritize and be flexible without compromising patient safety and quality. You are responsible and have the patient's best interests in focus.
In the role of registered nurse you should
• be a licensed registered nurse.
For this position it is meritorious if you have knowledge and experience of work within surgical care and acute care as well as if you have adequate specialist training.
