The Surgery Clinic is one of the largest operations at Centralsjukhuset Kristianstad and consists of outpatient services with vascular, upper/lower gastroenterology, and breast/plastic patients. We also have an oncology treatment unit, Emergency Surgery Department, Surgery Department, Gynecological Surgery, Ear-Nose-Throat, Urology and vascular department, and Emergency Orthopedic Department. Our Surgery Department specializes in patients receiving surgical treatment for conditions such as colorectal diseases. On the department, we care for 13 patients in two teams. We care for patients with acute surgical conditions, and several of our patients have oncology diagnoses. We provide both pre- and postoperative care. Development within the specialty is advancing; surgical techniques and medical treatments are becoming increasingly complex and simultaneously more accessible to a larger number of patients. We work closely with the Gynecological Surgery, Ear-Nose-Throat department located on the same floor. We have knowledgeable and committed staff, and our goal is to always keep the patient in focus. We are a large team with different professional categories working closely together around the patient. Our department pharmacist assists the nurses by ordering medications, ensuring all medications are in stock, and refilling medication carts for each team. The pharmacist also helps prepare IV solutions, antibiotics, and tablet dispensing. During business hours on weekdays, we have coordinators who coordinate incoming calls and an SVU coordinator who plans and assesses the patient's needs prior to discharge. 2 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES At our Surgery Department, you will have an exciting and developmental role in a pleasant work environment where everyone helps one another. You will be surrounded by friendly and competent colleagues in close teamwork. The team consists of one registered nurse and one nursing assistant caring for 6 to 7 patients during their shift. As a registered nurse, you will work with preoperative preparation and postoperative care of patients who have undergone colorectal surgery. Some of our patients receive epidural catheters in connection with surgery, which means you will work with advanced pain management. We work according to ERAS, an evidence-based care program designed to help patients recover faster, experience fewer complications, and have shorter hospital stays. Our work group is involved in development and improvement of our department. We have well-established routines and care deeply about our patients. We value your development and ensure there is time for both education and reflection. You have the opportunity to schedule training in your calendar, and the department has a nursing educator and a nursing assistant educator who help and inspire continuous learning. If you are new to your role as a registered nurse, there is an opportunity to participate in our clinical foundation year. You will receive an individually tailored introduction program where the nursing educator is available for support, mentoring, and training. QUALIFICATIONS You are a licensed registered nurse with authorization to work in Swedish healthcare and have Swedish language skills at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale.
