The surgical department in Gävle consists of three care units, of which surgical ward 112K is one of three, along with a surgical clinic and an endoscopy clinic. Here, specialists work in urology, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, upper and lower gastrointestinal, and breast and endocrine surgery. Surgical ward 112K has 18 care beds and treats a broad spectrum of patients in otolaryngology, vascular surgery, and upper gastroenterology. We have close collaboration with other units within the surgical department. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a nurse with us, you are offered engaging and continuously developing work in one of healthcare's most exciting fields, working with both acute and scheduled patients. You lead your care team and coordinate medical and care-related matters in a team with doctors, other nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. You also have support from the unit's specialist nurse and care planner. Your care team is responsible for six patients, and in addition to daily teamwork, you are expected to contribute to the unit's development efforts and our shared work environment. As a nurse with us, you will work with, among other things: • blood sampling • management of various drains • advanced wound care • negative pressure treatment/VAC treatment • tracheostomy care/Provox care.
