Description:

Are you looking for work that challenges, develops, and truly engages you? In infectious disease nursing, you'll encounter a varied and educational workday where no two days are the same. Here you work alongside colleagues who support, inspire, and grow together – while making a real difference in people's lives. Duties As a nurse with us, you'll become an important part of the ward's work with patients who have acute and often complex infectious diseases. The work is varied and developmental, where you're responsible for patient care, specimen collection, medication management, and handling of various catheters, drains, and medical equipment. You work closely with physicians, nursing assistants, and other professionals in an interprofessional team where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and patient focus permeate everyday work. To ensure you feel secure in your role, we offer an individualized introduction with mentor support and regular follow-ups. With us, you'll have the opportunity to build broad clinical experience and develop specialized expertise in infectious disease nursing. We invest in professional development through internal training and participation in operational development work. After one year of employment, there's also the opportunity to pursue specialist training with maintained salary. Once you've found your footing, there's an opportunity to further develop toward outpatient work. There you'll meet patients with conditions including HIV, hepatitis, TB, MRSA, and immunodeficiency in an exciting and specialized outpatient clinic. About the Workplace The Infection Clinic is responsible for specialized infectious disease care in Västmanland and consists of both an inpatient ward and a specialist clinic. Despite being a smaller clinic, the commitment is great – here around 80 employees work together with a common goal: to provide patients with the best possible care and develop Sweden's best infection clinic. With us, you'll encounter a strong team spirit, close collaboration, and a work environment where we support each other across professional and team boundaries. We value structure, good planning, and clear procedures, while constantly driving development and improvement work forward throughout the organization. It's precisely the combination of high expertise, great commitment, and the desire to develop together that makes our clinic a workplace where people thrive, grow, and want to stay. For us, it's important that you feel good and enjoy work, so we offer you: - Opportunities for professional development through, for example, internal training - A workplace for life's different stages, with flexible working hours within certain limits - Free training at our fully equipped gym - Wellness allowance of 3,000 kr/year More about your benefits can be found here: https://regionvastmanland.se/jobba-med-oss/dina-formaner/ Qualifications We're looking for you who are a licensed nurse, or are nearing the end of your education and soon ready to take the step into professional life. If you have previous experience in the profession or from similar activities, that's a merit, but most important to us is your willingness to develop and contribute to the team. Since the role involves close contact with patients, relatives, and colleagues, you need to be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written. To thrive with us, we believe you're a confident and responsible person with good self-awareness. You have the ability to maintain calm, focus, and professionalism even when the workday changes rapidly or the pace becomes high. At the same time, you're flexible, solution-oriented, and accustomed to structuring your work independently. With us, teamwork is crucial. We value collaboration, clear communication, and the willingness to help each other, because we know that creates both safe care and a good work environment. You meet people in vulnerable situations every day, which means empathy, attentiveness, and warm treatment are natural parts of your approach. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and seek you who want to contribute to both the team's community and the patients' wellbeing.
