About the Operation
The Infectious Diseases Clinic at Sahlgrenska University Hospital is an exciting and dynamic workplace where we combine infection care, research, teaching, and development. With us, you will gain in-depth knowledge of infectious diseases, healthcare hygiene, and infection control, and be part of shaping the future of infection care in a globalized world.
About Department 302
The unit has 14 care beds, of which four are dedicated to intermediate care and ten to general infection care. Adult patients with a broad spectrum of infectious conditions are cared for here, often with rapidly changing care needs.
We collaborate with the emergency department regarding a special sepsis pathway, which ensures quick and efficient management of patients with serious infections. Our patients also come via the infection clinic, other care units, or after intensive care.

Clinical Foundation Year
If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will participate in the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introductory program.
The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts during the first year of your employment with us. The clinical foundation year includes lectures, nursing mentoring, and practical training in your profession at the Simulation Center. In addition, it also includes service in at least two different departments to broaden your competence.
Foreign Nurse/Physician
If foreign nurses/physicians with foreign credentials/specialist certificates are recruited, the relevant position is preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish credentials/specialist certificates.
