One of our valued colleagues is retiring, and we are now seeking a research nurse who wants to join the research unit at the Hematology Clinic at Linköping University Hospital. The clinic provides highly specialized care with a strong research profile and participates in both national and international clinical trials. Job Description As a research nurse, you work in a team with other research nurses and physicians and collaborate with other departments and pharmaceutical companies. Your work is characterized by high quality, and you work with dedication and independence toward established goals and timelines. The work is varied and involves engagement in several clinical trials, primarily planning, coordinating, and organizing clinical trials/studies and working with various registries. The work includes both patient-facing and non-patient-facing tasks. Work-related travel may occur, both nationally and internationally, in the form of investigator meetings for clinical trials. Patient-facing tasks may include: Participating in the patient consent process and recruitment. Conducting sample collection/examinations and administering treatments to study patients. Informing and supporting patients participating in studies. Handling, labeling, and sending various types of specimens. Non-patient-facing tasks may include: Identifying patients for studies based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Coordinating study patient visits and examinations. Registering and updating study data in various databases and registries. Maintaining ongoing contact with study physicians, outpatient staff, and external collaborators/sponsors. Each research nurse has primary responsibility for a number of studies, which involves in-depth knowledge and special expertise about these studies and the patients participating in them. The work is conducted in close collaboration with a research nurse colleague to form a strong team that supports one another. About You We are looking for someone who: Is a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Has several years of experience in clinical work, preferably in oncology/hematology or a related field. Has an interest in, or experience with, clinical trials, quality registries, or other development and improvement work. Has good computer skills and easily learns new IT systems. Meritorious qualifications include: Experience working as a research nurse/study coordinator or equivalent. Experience with clinical trials according to GCP (Good Clinical Practice) and work in research/study databases. Specialist training in oncology or medicine. Since you will work in constant dialogue with patients and colleagues, it is a requirement that you have good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. As a person, you are organized, thorough, and responsible. You enjoy working independently but also in close collaboration with other professional categories. You have a strong ability to build trust when meeting with patients and their families, and you are solution-focused and flexible when study conditions change.
