About Us Our unit Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic (BUP) Kungshöjd is part of the operational area Neurology, Child Psychiatry within Area 1 of Sahlgrenska University Hospital. Our outpatient clinic's mission is to assess and treat children and adolescents up to 18 years old with moderate to severe mental health issues. This requires both broad and deep expertise, and our work is conducted in a multidisciplinary manner together with psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, administrative secretaries, and physicians. At the BUP Kungshöjd clinic, we are approximately 25 employees who place great value on professionalism and patient focus. We work to increase accessibility for our target population and maintain a good work environment. We enjoy working together and support each other in our work. We are located in beautiful offices on Kungsgatan in central Gothenburg. Job Responsibilities As a nurse with us, you are a very important team member in our goal of creating better and more accessible care for our children and adolescents. You will meet and treat children and adolescents with severe mental health issues and serious psychiatric conditions. This motivating work is important for us to achieve the goal of active patient participation, where each patient is involved in their own care from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up. With us, you work independently, primarily with follow-up on medication treatment for neuropsychiatric issues, depressive conditions, anxiety disorders, etc., with a focus on effectiveness, side effects, and well-being according to medical guidelines. Psychoeducational conversations are included as needed with both patients and guardians. The work also includes collaboration with physicians to optimize medication effectiveness, assessments of psychiatric conditions, and cooperation with other professionals on the team and partner care units. Additionally, medication counseling via telephone and correspondence through 1177 are part of the role. If you have experience in talk therapy, the opportunity to engage in this is available alongside other duties. About You We are looking for a psychiatric nurse, or alternatively a registered nurse with experience in psychiatric care, who has a passionate interest in children's and adolescents' mental health. You are confident in making independent assessments, have the ability to critically review your work, and strive to create good rapport with both patients and guardians.
